UK AGRICULTURE BUY-TO-LET INVESTMENT
The world is entering a period of unprecedented demand growth due to a rapidly expanding population's requirement for "food, feed, and fuel". On the supply side, climate change, fundamental limits to further cropland expansion and a plethora of pressures on existing production, make keeping up with rising demand increasingly challenging.
The annual consumption of grain has outstripped production for 7 out of the last 8 years. According to United Nations figures, per capita production of grain has been in decline since the mid 80's and the per capita availability of agricultural land since well before that.

Until recently, direct farmland investment has been restricted to ultra-high net worth and institutional investors.
