Steve Dawkins, Managing Director of Own Property Worldwide
Steve Dawkins is regarded as a leading figure in the international property sector and is Managing Director of Own Property Worldwide Ltd (OPW), an international and UK property brokerage which he launched in July 2009. The primary focus of OPW is to source and promote below market value (BMV) properties and negotiate the sale of distressed residential and commercial opportunities in locations as diverse as Marbella, Dubai, Portugal, France and the USA.
Prior to launching OPW, Steve was Sales Director of the digital property channel Real Estate TV from its launch in October 2004. Fox International Channels purchased a majority stake in RETV in January 2008 and Steve was quickly promoted to Managing Director. However, in March 2009 market conditions dictated that Fox International mothball the channel.
Steve has been a guest speaker at many prestigious global events including the Real Estate Australia conference held in NSW in August 2007. In addition he was invited to judge at the inaugural AIPP awards, which is seen as a benchmark of professional conduct in the international homes industry. Steve has been an active property investor both in the UK and overseas for over 15 years and is very well respected within the property industry.
Prior to his time in media and property, Steve was a LIFFE Futures broker and manager at companies including Cargill Investor Services, UBS, Nomura and Morgan Stanley in the City of London.
